Earlier this year, Chris Wilcox from Lowell Five Cent Savings Bank, reached out to Reeds Ferry Sheds in regards to a charitable donation. Chris is on the Board for the Front Door Agency, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that invests in New Hampshire individuals and families as they transition from crisis to self-sufficiency by providing a hand-up opportunity to those at risk of homelessness. Every year they have a Gourmet Festival and Auction at the Nashua Country Club with 200 +/- people. Due to the recent pandemic, last year and this year they have had to pivot to an online format. They reached out to Reeds Ferry Sheds to see if it would be possible to get a donation of a shed to be auctioned off as part of their annual fundraiser.
With Reeds Ferry being in Hudson, right next door to Nashua, we know how much good the Front Door Agency does for Nashua and the surrounding communities. Reeds Ferry feels their mission is especially important during the pandemic, which is certainly a challenging time for many families. Reeds Ferry decided to donate an 8×12 Vinyl Victorian Cottage shed with Architectural Roof Shingles, Flower Boxes and a Ramp. The auction winner can customize the shed to their liking and if they wanted a larger building, the value of this shed would be applied to that larger building.
The Gourmet Festival and Auction ran from May 6th through May 16th and received great support! Reeds Ferry is grateful for the opportunity to help this great cause and we look forward to installing the shed for the winner!
